Totley Library Cinema Programme – Saved

From January 2024 we aim to show two films a month. One film for adults on a Friday evening and one matinee film on a Thursday afternoon. The Thursday film is free (no raffle ticket required) for the over 65s, but all ages are welcome. it is advisable to pre-cook if you want to attend a film. This can be done in person at the library or by phoning the library when we are open You can pay when you book or on the day.

Our February 2024 cinema programme at Totley Library is now available for booking in person or by calling 0114 236 3971. Refreshments will be served at all these films. Raffle tickets: £3 per person, Thursday matinee films are free of charge for those over 65s.

New films available for booking:

Friday, 23 February 2024, 7 pm – Oppenheimer (15).

A dramatisation of the life story of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who had a large hand in the development of the atomic bomb, thus helping end World War 2. We see his life from his university days to post-WW2, where his fame saw him embroiled in political machinations.

Thursday, 29 February 2024, 3 pm – The unlikely pilgrimage of Harold Fry (12).

One day, a seemingly unremarkable man in his sixties named Harold learns that his old friend Queenie is dying. He embarks on a walk, only to keep going for 724 km until he reaches Queenie’s hospice, much to the despair of his wife Maureen.
