What You Can Borrow

Books

The loan period for all books and materials is three weeks.

Sheffield Library Service books, CDs and DVDs
You can borrow up to a maximum of 20 books and 5 DVDs from the main library stock.
You can search, reserve and renew the Sheffield Libraries Catalogue on-line – click the link below.
When the book comes in, you will be notified by email to collect it.

Click the link to “My Account” above to review what you have out, on reserve, or to renew items on loan. To access this service, you will need to log in using your library card number (on the front of your library card) and your PIN. If you lose your PIN please ask for a reminder.

You can also access Sheffield Libraries Archives & Information from your mobile device. Manage your account, search the catalogue, renew and reserve books. Go to https://www.yourlibraryapp.com/SheffieldLibraries for links to the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Totley Loans – Orange Sticker Scheme
The books are purchased by Totley library.
You must register separately at the front desk to loan Orange Sticker books and can borrow up to a maximum of 5 books at one time.You can renew them online, but users wishing to do so will have to login with their PIN. Please contact the desk at the library to set this up, if required. Alternatively, books can be renewed at the library or by phone.

These books are often recent and in high demand so we would be grateful if borrowers would return them promptly. Fines are no longer charged on Orange Sticker books; however, lost and damaged books are charged at replacement value. Click the link below to search the Orange Sticker catalogue.

Charges

All books are loaned for a period of 3 weeks. They can be renewed up to three times. There are no fines for late returns on either council books or our own Orange Sticker books. However, if books have not been renewed or returned within 12 weeks, they will be marked as lost and you will be liable for the replacement cost.

Please return your books as soon as you have finished reading them to allow other users to enjoy them. Your account, and ability to borrow our Orange Sticker books will be blocked if you owe more than £10. For council books you will be blocked if you owe more than £20.

We accept contactless payments for transactions over £1

DVDs – £1 per week.

Black & White Photocopying – 20p per side A4, 30p per side A3.

Colour Photocopying – A4 50p per side, A3 £1 per side

A4 Printing – 20p per side black and white, 50p per side colour.

Computers

Computers are available. They are free to use if you have a Library card.

Sale Books and DVDs

We always have a great selection of books in good condition and jigsaws available for sale. We also hold larger sale events at regular intervals throughout the year.

Donations

We accept good quality donations second hand books and jigsaws. We no longer accept DVDs or CDs.
