Totley CRIC is a non-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers.
We rely on donations and funds raised through events we host to fund the library. In our first two years of operating the library, Sheffield City Council will be paying 100% of the running costs for the library (gas, electricity and water bills, waste services, connection to the library system and use of the LMS etc.)
However, this grant from the council doesn’t cover consumables such as cleaning supplies, craft items, stationery, new equipment and printing (posters, training manuals etc.). It also doesn’t cover larger costs such as insurance and the new software we are using (such as accountancy software and Three Rings, our volunteer management software). Finally, should anything happen to the building, it will be our responsibility to pay for any repairs.
What’s more, after that period of funding is over, the amount the council contributes to the running of Totley Library will diminish over the third year. By year four we will be entirely self reliant and we expect we will need to raise approximately £22,000 per year in order to keep the library running as it is now.
We are already applying for grants to purchase new equipment and will be holding various fundraising events throughout the year to generate capital but fundraising will only get us so far, and grants won’t be issued for things such as bills and insurance. That is why we need your help.
We would be very grateful to receive any donatations that you can afford to make, whether it’s big or small. If you do wish to donate, please click the button below and you will be taken to the Totley CRIC section of a website called Givey. Totley CRIC will receive more than 100% of any donation made through this site (we get the full donation and 25% Gift Aid on top from any donors who pay income tax).
